A bed can improve your pet’s life in many ways. You want your pet to be comfortable, and feel secure. Dog beds can provide a layer of insulation between your dog and the floor. The floor can get cold and sometimes even a little damp. Choose dog beds carefully, as dogs sleep longer than people and in a greater variety of positions. Dogs are unable to sit down and chat with you about their preferences, and can’t just go to the shop and try out a bunch of beds, either.
Size matters when choosing dog beds. It should be big enough to fit your dog comfortably. This may seem obvious, but don’t shop for beds without actually measuring your dog. Leave room for your dog to grow if your dog is young, and leave room for your dog to get fatter if he is older. If your dog likes to chew furniture, as many do, there are beds designed to resist damage. Outdoor dogs need beds that fit in their dog houses. Indoor dogs can accept beds of any size as long as the bed is big enough. Outdoor dog beds need to be able to endure weather and moisture, even if they will be located in dog houses.
